9. Develop university projects which include student and faculty exchange programmes between regional and international universities as well as promoting university courses on peace studies and conflict resolution.

The role of university formation in conflict resolution has been underestimated, although it is historically evident that the initiative and disagreement of students and academic circles has often given rise to forms of pacific cultural resistance, as a manifestation of opposition to war and as a concrete form of deep reflection on phenomena that lead unreasonably to identify the other as the ‘enemy’ and ‘different’.

University, both as a place of enrichment of cognitive skills and most importantly as the center of thought evolution and search for truth, has a great responsibility toward actuality and has the moral obligation to open students’ minds to interculturality and to the knowledge of the other’s personal and historical realities. As a privileged place for aggregation and for the creation of new thought movements, in the 14 points university is considered as the solution to start a real constructive attitude within young people, willing to overcome conflicts and affirm their desire to know each other and live in peace.
Rondine’s International Hall of Residence is the acting-out of the effectiveness of a training program based on the acquaintance of differences and on reciprocal exchange: the Document in 14 points for Peace in the Caucasus, based on the experience and proposal of the students of Rondine, is now a tool to mobilize Caucasian universities. It is now a matter of activating concrete projects to fulfill what is hoped for in point 9 of the Document.
