26th July 2010, Yerevan - While the students were looking down a well in the middle of a square in Baku, a ten-year old small Armenian spirit came up to us, his name is Haik.Haik, the clever face of the street boy who has things to teach you. He had a folder full of water-color paintings: the pomegranate tree, symbol of Yerevan, Armenian churches, the Ararat mountain and the animals from the Arch of Noe.  We bought his works of art and taught that the expression of his art must always bear his name. He learnt quickly and signed his drawings with the “disheveled” writing of an experienced artist, then he followed us around the city. Even here it’s the children who tell us about the real world and make us live the city in its reality. Our project manager bought a whole gallery and received, as decoration, a puppet for his jacket.Maybe those drawings are not even his. And surely it’s not true he collects foreign coins: as soon as we turn around he’ll be asking how much they are worth. But we like to pretend it’s like this, that with that money he will really buy a computer and with his drawings he will tell the story of Yerevan."Let’s pick up all the children from the streets and go and visit the city!” says Rouba. This is how we would like our friendship trip to be. This is what we would like to be, but this trip must continue through institutional meetings.Multiplying ourselves to be in more than a place at the same moment, rising under the sun of this torrid summer and trying not to waste our energies, we continue at a cracking pace to meet the many institutions of the country that want to welcome and meet us. Also for Haik.
