And in the light of the event you feel like illustrating the fourteen points again one by one: the first - quoting textually - “Support opinion movements in the Caucasus and worldwide that will induce governments to establish a permanent dialogue table including all the parties involved in the conflict, dedicated to the solution of political, financial and social disputes”. The incipit, the starting point, the necessary sparkle for everything to begin. Dialogue. Mr. Andrea Riccucci, Eastern Europe expert for the ‘Sant’Egidio’ Community and guest at Rondine on Sunday 30th May, perfectly explains why this is an essential point: “Finding the new reasons and places for civil coexistence is a fundamental step, especially in a region which lies between Europe and the East, a place where coexistence is not an option but rather a ‘conditio sine qua non’. The Caucasian one is a region where the message to be spread is that richness consists of differences existing side by side. The main contribution of the project ‘Ventidipacesucaucaso’ is therefore that of uniting the civil society movements so as to heal the wounds and develop strategies to overcome conflict”. Support dialogue. Support peace. |

Food for thought, ideas that give new strength to a project undertaking the difficult path that leads from dreams to reality. The event ‘Le Piazze di Maggio’, five days to discuss possible ‘Paths to peace’, organized by the Association ‘Rondine Cittadella della Pace’ has a different general meaning, if seen through the thick lens of ‘Ventidipacesucaucaso’. To be precise, it has a new meaning. You see further in an elaborate and complicated project. Because five days full of conferences, meetings, conversations and new friendships feed a ‘dream’ which has been marching for more than a year. Wood for a fire of contents that is already illuminating as if it were daylight. Those who in the past year have understood and supported the ‘Document in 14 points’, during last week’s event had the opportunity and time to reflect carefully on the real meaning of these 14 points. A change in perspective, almost a slight revolution, in the Caucasian system. “Fourteen points” as alive as ever.
