“Violence has no reason to exist, that is why we want to condemn this attack” said Franco Vaccari, president of the association Rondine Cittadella della Pace in Arezzo (Italy), referring to the unsuccessful assault of extremists to the parliament of Chechnya, autonomous republic of the Russian Federation, during which four aggressors where killed.
“We would like to offer our solidarity to the affected institutions and express pity for the victims and their families” continued the founder of Rondine, that back in 1995 committed with the Russian Federation for the joint hospitality of Russians and Chechens; that was when the International Student Hall originated, receiving young students coming from countries in conflict, including Caucasian ones. “We know the climate of tension in the Caucasus well; we experienced it during the recent Friendship trip of Rondine to the Southern Caucasus and Turkey, and we have often been demonstrated the tensions that affect the North. But the young Caucasians that came to Rondine to live a sharing and training experience keep working to bring reconciliation to their lands and make episodes like the assault to the Chechen parliament never happen again”.
