Monday 18th October, Rondine’s popular diplomacy activity will be the protagonist of the conference “Ventidipacesucaucaso: a parallel diplomacy action” at the faculty of political science of the Rome 3 University within the Diplomacy Festival.
The president Franco Vaccari will present, together with the international students of Rondine and experts on the issue, Rondine’s activities for peace in the Caucasus, from the Russian-Georgian conflict in August 2008 to the Friendship trip last July 2010.
It will be an opportunity to present the project ‘Ventidipacesucaucaso’ and to debate on it with professors and scholars of the Caucasian area and international relations, thanks to the intervention of the Provost of the Faculty Prof. Francesco Guida, Prof. Leopoldo Nuti and Georgian Prof. Gaga Shurgaia, two professors who are among the artificers of the Document in 14 points for peace in the Caucasus, approved at the first international Conference of the Peoples of the Caucasus held by Rondine at La Verna, Arezzo (Italy), in May 2009.
The young students of Rondine’s Student Hall coming from countries in conflict of the Caucasus, the Balkans, the Middle East and Africa, will be able to meet and confront  with their colleagues at Rome 3 University and debate at the end of the conference.
The Diplomacy Festival , promoted by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and supported by the Municipality and Province of Rome and the European Commission, is held in Rome from the 16th to the 24th of October and schedules a rich program of meetings, among which one with Dominique Moisi, founder of the Institute for International Relations of Paris, and Sir Ivor Roberts, former British ambassador in Italy.
