Ecumenical day the one which concludes the stay of Rondine in Tbilisi. After the meeting with the bishop Giuseppe Pasotto, Apostolic Administrator of the Apostolic Administration of the Caucasus for Latins, the delegation of Cittadella della Pace met the Bishop Gherasme, responsible for the Foreign Relations of the Georgian Patriarchate, and the Bishop Daniele, responsible for the Diocese of Abkhazia.“I would like to thank Rondine for its undertaking and for welcoming young Georgian Student to Rondine – said the Orthodox Bishop – thank you also for refugees to whom Rondine gives the possibility of studying and experiencing a cohabitation”.
The second man of the Patriarchate underlined the absence of religious conflicts in Georgia: “Georgian people have always been tolerant toward all kinds of religion”.
About the matter of conflicts in Abkhazia and Ossetia, the Bishop Gherasame has remembered that, at the moment, there are not diplomatic relations between Russia and Georgia, and the only relations existing are the relations between Churchs, which guarantee the dialogue.
According to the Orthodox bishop: “The help given by the Church is not enough to reach a solution in conflicts. If alone, the Church will never reach a solution. Also the political world must do something. Also the political will is necessary”, concluded the Bishop.
