20 July 2010 – Tbilisi – The Association Rondine in Georgia have gained the students trust and reconfirmed its relationship with the Universities of the capital. The Tbilisi State University, the Ilia Chavchavadze University, Tbilisi State University – Jakashvili, The Davis Guramishvili Georgian International University: all of these welcomed the delegation of Rondine with great enthusiasm. All the Universities declared themselves disposed to enhance collaborations and promote new ideas along with Rondine and the Italian Universities.

“We are that genre of people who always experience an emotion when they enter into a University. Where there’s been a progress, there’s been culture” stated Mr. Franco Vaccari during the meeting at Tbilisi State University last 19th of July. Universities have always been in the front line with the culture, they’ve inculcated free and audacious thoughts to students. Young people who arrived to Rondine from Georgia gave to Italy an amazing testimony of their Country.”

The value of Rondine has been recognised everywhere as a unique reality in the world and it has been given official status in Georgia through the David Guramshvili Honorary Degree to the President of the Association.

At the same time, it is quite clear  that “the concrete experience of the Association needs the eye and the intelligence of University”. Rondine has always tried to make use of these things and a concrete example of this is the Document for the peace in the Caucasus in 14 points which was given firm theoretical basis by the academic field.

Professor Matteo Martelli brought to mind the First Conference of the Peoples of the Caucasus when the 14 points were examined and refined, remembering “the effort to agree about a comma or a word of a proposal which had not come up within diplomatic offices but in an International Hall of Residence” .

Rondine is the tool which allows the academic field to carry out the research efforts by connecting them to the unique experience of young people who come from countries which are in conflict.

“Studying requires to spend time and think about things you can not immediately reach” said Mr. Vittorio Emanuele Parisi, lecturer of International Relations at Catholic University of Milan and member of the Editorial Group of international specialists who worked at the Document in 14 points during the Conference. “At the end, however, the creative anarchy produced an object”, a product that also the Universities of Georgia want to develop.
